Getting to the slopes
Eldora Ski Area is only 24 minutes away, and it's plenty fun. Go west on Hwy 72 to CO-119 (the Peak to Peak Highway) turn right and in a few miles go left on Eldora Rd and follow the signs.
Loveland Ski Area and many other points west on the I-70 corridor are an hour and 15 minutes without traffic.
Getting around
You will need a car, preferably equipped with at LEAST all wheel drive. In the winter, from Oct thru April, we recommend 4 wheel drive for Colorado's mountain roads. You will likely thank us for this later :)

Move over, mountain living! This 4 bedroom home has it all: Space to spare for gatherings of up to 8 guests. The amenities go on and on. Gorgeous home, awesome kitchen, huge deck with furniture a-plenty, BBQ grill, fire table, umbrellas, AND a hot tub! All of this comes with a view of the Continental Divide that would be tough to beat!
Lookout Lodge is perched above some mountain highway switchback curves, high atop Coal Creek Canyon in Wondervu (view). It is nestled in an abundant conifer and Aspen forest, with many rocky outcroppings. The property saw the raising of two sturdy children and they left their swingset, a basketball hoop, a tire swing, and even some disc golf baskets. There is lots to explore, both inside and outside of this fabulous home.
The steps up the front porch reveal a sweet little table and 2 chairs for a quiet morning/evening beverage, and a wood pile for the woodstove in the living room. As you enter the home, you begin to get a feel for just how big 4500 square feet is! To your left, the stairways leading both up and down allow plenty of sunlight in. And to your right is a hall to the laundry room and powder room. In front of you lies the heart of this house. A beautifully appointed space, this great room encompasses the living room, dining area, and splendorous kitchen, wrapped on the west side by floor to ceiling windows so you are about as connected to huge mountains as you can be without being ON them! (You are welcome to go hike on them, of course!) This space gets plenty of sun and is also heated with radiant heat and the wood stove. It is very comfortable.
From the living room, through double doors and down some steps, you enter the primary bedroom, with a king sized bed and its own view of the Divide and a luxurious, en suite bathroom. A walk in shower, two sinks, a freestanding soaking tub, spacious walk-in closet, and a separate toilet room make this dream bathroom a joy to be in! The primary bedroom also boasts a loft! A desk makes this space great for a work station, but it's also a fun little space for reading, games, or just chilling. From the dining area of the great space, you have the option of entering the family room. This is where the serious viewing happens, with a big screen TV equipped with streaming apps. There is an office that can be accessed from the family room, and can serve as a really productive space for the guest that has to do a work-cation.
Back at the entry hall, we can follow the steps upstairs. Shelves of games and another desk area greet you as you approach two bedrooms and a shared full bath with a combo bath/shower. Each bedroom has a queen bed and one has a twin day bed with a trundle for those guests who don't wish to share the bed. It may not surprise you that these bedrooms both look out on the Rocky Mountains. From the main level, we can also descend the stairs to the walkout lower level. Here you'll find a sweet game room! The pool table converts to a ping pong table, and there's a dart board, too! A kitchenette makes gaming more enjoyable because everyone needs cold beverages and snacks! The 4th bedroom is also here, off of the game room, with its queen bed, en suite bathroom with a combo tub/shower and (of course!) its own view of the mountains. Following the lower level hall from the stairs past the game room, you will reach the little bench and shoe tray where you can remove your shoes. The two car, heated garage with an electric car charger, is available for your use, with plenty of other spots to park. Here you will also discover that the owners have left for you some snow shoes and sleds to try! Between October and May, we hope you get snow!
Your group will make memories to last a lifetime! We can't wait to host you in beautiful Colorado!
