Welcome to the 4WD Cabin in the Clouds, a hidden gem nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, just 45 minutes west of Denver in Black Hawk. This elevated neighborhood rests atop the slopes of Starr Peak, offering breathtaking views and a truly unique experience.
Please note that a 4WD or AWD vehicle is necessary throughout the year, and during winter, we highly recommend having tire chains for added safety. The journey from 8400' to 9190' elevation spans only 1.6 miles, providing a thrilling ascent to your mountain retreat.
Once you arrive, you'll be enchanted by the blend of cozy and modern aesthetics, infusing rustic charm with chic touches reminiscent of an old hunting cabin reborn. Plus, we warmly welcome your furry companions – it's a pet-friendly haven! (2 dogs allowed, $30/night/per dog)
While staying with us, it's important to embrace water conservation, as we rely on a well system. The well capacity is carefully managed to ensure an enjoyable stay for all guests. With a capacity of approximately 200 gallons in summer and 100 in winter, we advise coordinating shower times and laundry usage, especially for groups of six. To fully appreciate your stay, we recommend parties of 3-4 guests. We ensure you have access to drinking water by keeping two 5-gallon water jugs in rotation in the kitchen.
Prepare for an unforgettable experience as you step onto the cabin's property. With the cul-de-sac as your parking spot, the steep driveway adds an adventurous touch. During winter, we provide plastic sleds to help you navigate the snowy path, adding a hint of excitement to your arrival. The entry stairs are guided by a handrail, ensuring a safe and enjoyable journey to the front door.
Once inside, unwind in the hot tub nestled amidst the tranquil woods, offering a rejuvenating experience while gazing at the majestic mountains. You'll find loaner sleds and snowshoes in the mudroom, setting the stage for thrilling winter adventures in Colorado.
The cabin's interior welcomes you with a spacious layout, featuring an oversized desk, a cozy reading nook with a propane fireplace, and a dining area that transforms into a poker table for added entertainment. The bedrooms may be modest in size, but they offer all the comforts you need. The Primary Bedroom comes with a queen-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom, although the closet is not in use, we provide hooks and a suitcase rack for your convenience.
The well-equipped kitchen boasts a bay window with a stunning view and all the amenities to satisfy your culinary desires.
Step outside onto the deck to revel in the stunning elevation and take in the breathtaking surroundings. The living room is a cozy retreat with comfortable seating, faux furs for added comfort, an electric fireplace, and a flat-screen TV. Enjoy quality time with friends and family, and don't forget to find the cards and poker chips for some classic entertainment.
Two guest bedrooms offer unique experiences, with "The Log Room" featuring a queen-sized bed nestled within original log walls, and "The View Room" providing a full-sized bed and a magnificent vista of the Continental Divide mountains.
In the 4WD Cabin in the Clouds, you'll find an extraordinary escape that seamlessly blends mountain adventure and luxurious comfort. Book your stay now for an unforgettable experience that awaits!
The primary renter must be 25, or older and present for the entire stay - day and night.
